While record sealing generally removes criminal offenses and convictions from a person's public record, including many databases accessed ruing an employment background check for example, expunging a person's record permanently removes the record as if it never existed. Expungement in Ohio is extremely limited to specific classifications of defendants (victims of human trafficking for example), Ohio's record sealing laws have recently expanded to include record sealing for non-violent felony offenses of the third degree.
Dismissals are usually eligible for record sealing immediately.
Generally speaking, non-violent and non-traffic related offenses may be eligible for record sealing and/or expungement. Every case is unique and we can provide a free case consultation to review your case, contact us at (513) 428-2925 to schedule a free case consultation to discuss record sealing in Ohio.
